Our Foundation: Real-World Wisdom

At Nulink, we empower individuals and organisations to understand behaviour with more insight, less fear, and clearer systems. Our unique methodology is built upon decades of hands-on experience in outdoor leadership, frontline youth work, trauma theory, and behavioural intervention. We don’t just teach theory; our approach is deeply rooted in real-life challenges and the practical solutions learned from them.

Our approach guarantees ethical and lawful practice by aligning everyday decisions with current safeguarding standards and regulations. It protects everyone involved—participants, staff, and the organisation—by reducing physical, emotional, and legal risk. We help teams build trust and accountability through a shared language and framework, so colleagues can support and learn from one another. During high-pressure incidents, our training replaces panic with calm, confident, well-informed action. When staff understand the science behind behaviour and have a clear, ethical plan in place, guests feel safer, teams feel more capable, and organisations thrive with a culture rooted in care and professionalism.

Why Trauma-Informed Practice Matters

Trauma is more common than we think — and it impacts behaviour, learning, and relationships in every setting.

In Wales:

47% of adults have experienced at least one Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE).

14% have lived through four or more — the threshold where the risk of harm sharply increases.

Individuals with 4+ ACEs are:

32x more likely to struggle in school or work

7x more likely to use substances or self-harm

4x more likely to experience mental health issues

3x more likely to develop chronic physical illness

These challenges don’t stay at home — they show up in classrooms, activity groups, campsites, and staff teams.

At Nulink, we train people to recognise what’s beneath the behaviour — and respond in ways that reduce risk, build trust, and support long-term wellbeing for everyone involved.

Meet the Team

Tyler Baldwin – Director

Tyler brings over 20 years of experience working with young people in outdoor, therapeutic, and high-intensity settings. From frontline practice with Cardiff Children’s Services to trauma-informed programme design in Australia, his approach blends deep lived experience with evidence-based methods like Non-Violent Resistance, motivational interviewing, and trauma science. Known for his calm presence and practical insight, Tyler specialises in helping teams see through behaviour to build connection, safety, and long-term change.

Eric Barrett – Administrative Lead and Disability Inclusion Consultant.

Formerly supported by Tyler in a frontline role, Eric now brings lived experience, insight, and sharp organisational skills to the heart of the business. His journey with trauma-informed practice helped him rebuild a sense of choice, control, and confidence — something he now champions for others through his consulting work. Eric supports Nulink’s operations while advising on accessibility, inclusive systems, and the design of support networks that prioritise dignity, voice, and belonging.

Matt Pringle – Content Specialist

Matt began his career as an MP Investigator in the military—leading high-pressure team operations and large training exercises. Those experiences shaped his understanding of stress, resilience, and the importance of clear communication. Now working in the trauma and behavior space, Matt brings a structured, calm, and deeply human approach. He blends his business background with a passion for accessible learning design—creating training that builds real-world confidence.

At Nulink, Matt ensures content resonates with frontline teams: clear but not simplistic, and rooted in relational practice to foster safer spaces for all.
